Upset Duke defends public servants after PM’s statement

The PSA is defending public servants after the Prime Minister said many of them “produce absolutely nothing when the day comes.”

Dr Rowley’s statement, at a handing over ceremony for police motorbikes yesterday, was reported by a daily newspaper, prompting a response from PSA President Watson Duke.

Mr Duke believes the PM has chosen to point out pockets of weakness and ignore “areas of greatness” within the public service.

Mr Duke says the Prime Minister is placing his own failure to manage the public service on the workers.
