Union leader “thrown” out of TSTT office

CWU President Clyde Elder was physically removed from the TSTT offices on Edward Street, Port of Spain.

Reports indicate he was there in his capacity as the leader of the Recognized Majority Bargaining Union for TSTT employees, to handle several worker grievances.

A T&T Guardian report stated that Mr. Elder was asked to leave the compound, and was subsequently grabbed by a security officer and thrown on the ground.

He reportedly sought medical attention due to this.

The actions have since been condemned by the All Trinidad General Workers’ Trade Union President Nirvan Maharaj.
