UNC MP calls for suspension of EWMSC CEO as break-in is investigated

A call has been made for the CEO of the Eric Williams Medical Sciences Complex to be suspended as investigations continue into a recent break-in at the facility.

It comes from UNC MP Dr Tim Gopeesingh, after bandits broke into two wards and stole cell-phones and other valuables from sleeping patients.

Reports indicate that a nurse walked in during the robbery and ran off screaming, but there was no security guard on the 2nd floor.

According to Dr Gopeesingh, the Health Minister must demand an explanation from the NCRHA’s Board about the security breach, while the security company must also be held accountable.
