UNC Leader vehemently denies Cambridge Analytica link

The UNC continues to deny allegations of a link to the data mining firm Cambridge Analytica, and is instead accusing the PNM of other links of its own.

Last week, National Security Minister Stuart Young alleged that the People’s Partnership Government gave that company permission to monitor citizens’ online activity for political gain.

The TTPS is now seeking an interview with the main whistleblower Christopher Wylie, in a bid to investigate the claims.

During a UNC meeting in Marabella on Monday night, party leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar gave a vehement denial of the accusations.

Meanwhile, speaking earlier in the night, Naparima MP Rodney Charles alleged that the PNM may have worked with a company that practiced data mining, on its 2015 General Election campaign.

He also implied that since there is a probe into the Cambridge Analytica claims, there should also be one for this.

This particular allegation was first voiced by the UNC last year.
