In the face of recent opposition, UNC Leader Kamla Persad-Bissessar says she and the party remain strong.
Last week, it was revealed that former MPs Ramona Ramdial and Dr Fuad Khan submitted a motion to be heard at yesterday’s UNC National Congress, calling on the leadership to improve.
The motion, however, was reportedly rejected.
Speaking at yesterday’s Congress, Mrs Persad-Bissessar addressed naysayers, assuring that she and the party are unfazed and focused.
The UNC Leader said while there is independence of thought in the party, in order to move forward, persons with differing opinions must be respectful and abandon disruptive behaviour.
Another way forward for the UNC, according to Mrs Persad-Bissessar, is getting advice of experts who wish to remain politically unaligned.
