Unbearable Delhi air pollution leads to city shutdown


    Schools have been closed, work halted and flights are being diverted as air pollution in Delhi, India has reached unbearable levels.

    In many areas, air quality deteriorated into the hazardous category, bringing the risk of respiratory illnesses.

    Persons are being urged to stay inside to protect themselves.

    Chief Minister Arvid Kajriwal called for help to tackle the pollution, which is about seven times higher than in the Chinese capital Beijing.
