Two in court for separate cases of child sexual abuse

    A 43-year-old potter was granted $300,000 bail when he appeared before Chaguanas Magistrate Alexander Prince yesterday charged with two counts of Sexual Penetration of a Child.

    As part of the bail condition, the accused must report to the police station in his area twice a week.

    He is expected to reappear in court on February 28th.

    According to Police reports, on June 6th 2018, the 12-year-old victim was at the home of the accused to watch television.

    On two occasions, he allegedly had inappropriate sexual contact with the minor, who subsequently informed her mother of the incident.

    In a separate case, a 43-year-old labourer was also granted $300,000 bail when he appeared in court charged with Sexual Touching of an 11-year-old girl.

    Chaguanas Magistrate Adrian Darmanie ordered the accused stay away from the victim and report one day a month to a police station.

    He is expected to reappear in court on March 1st.

    According to the TTPS, on July 17th 2021, the victim was in her room, when she was allegedly touched inappropriately by her step father.

    The victim informed her mother, who subsequently filed a report.
