Two in court for Rio Claro home invasion

Two men have been denied bail, after appearing in court charged in connection with a home invasion in Rio Claro last week.

35-year-old Kirby Pamphille of Vistabella, and 32-year-old Kwassi Allen of New Grant, were jointly charged with burglary and four counts of robbery with violence.

They appeared virtually before Magistrate Wendy Dougdeen-Bally yesterday.

A 49-year-old man from Felicity has also been charged with receiving stolen property, possession of a firearm and possession of marijuana and was due in court today.

On September 23rd, four armed men entered the home in Rio Claro, tied up all four occupants, and physically assaulted two of them.

The suspects demanded money and fled the scene after allegedly stealing an undisclosed sum, along with a Beretta pistol, a Phantom 12-gauge shotgun, a Fostech 12-gauge shotgun, an undisclosed amount of ammunition, phones, an electronic tablet, and a large quantity of jewellery and alcohol.

Extensive enquiries resulted in the recovery of several of the stolen items, including the Phantom shotgun.
