TTUTA calls for suspension of SEA prep classes

TTUTA is calling on the Education Ministry to discontinue SEA preparation classes until the local spread of COVID-19 is brought under control.

In a release issued today, the union says the apparent resurgence of cases poses an escalation of risk to the students, teachers and principals who are preparing for the exam on August 20th.

It also points to the fact that two schools have already been forced to shut down temporarily due to recent cases.

TTUTA reminds that it was against the timing for the exam, given the possible health risks involved, and is calling on the Ministry to ensure the safety of students and staff is the priority.
