TTUTA says there was 78% support for its call for teachers to stay away from classes this morning.
The action, which saw teachers attend classes in the afternoon, is the latest move by the union regarding ongoing wage negotiations.
103.1FM News spoke with TTUTA President, Antonia Tekah-De Freitas, who says the Chief Personnel Officer failed to respond to a letter regarding negotiations.
Mrs Tekah-De Freitas adds however that the lack of response does not necessarily mean that negotiations are stagnated, since TTUTA remains ready and willing for discussions.
She also responded to some of the public criticism regarding TTUTA’s action.
