TTUTA – 40 visual and performing arts teachers denied chance for Dip Ed

TTUTA is calling on the Education Minister to take action, after 40 Visual and Performing Arts teachers were allegedly denied the opportunity to earn a Diploma of Education at UWI.

The union says the Dip Ed provides professional training for teachers and failure to pursue it can result in a loss of increments, loss of opportunities for promotion and loss of seniority status.

It adds that the programme for visual and performing arts teachers was last offered in 2014, which means teachers have been waiting four years to pursue this study, only to be denied access to it.
