TTPS win IDB award for reducing crime in Enterprise

The T&T Police Service has won an Inter-American Development Bank award for its work in the Enterprise community.

The 2019 President’s Award for Service Excellence in the Public Sector has been given to the TTPS for successfully decreasing the high occurrence of violent crime and distrust of the police in Enterprise.

The TTPS says this was due to diligent work of many internal departments and a strong effort by community police in the Central Division.

Also winning an award at the event was the Police Complaints Authority.

It won the People’s Choice award for its mobile app which was launched in 2017.

The app allows persons to submit reports in real-time from a phone, record video and audio directly to the authority, offer feedback and receive updates.
