The TTPS will be monitoring virtual Carnival Events to ensure compliance with COVID-19 regulations.
That position was made clear by Police Commissioner Gary Griffith, when he met today with the Promoters’ Association.
This week, there was public concern about the Sekon Sunday virtual event held at Queen’s Hall on Sunday.
The Top Cop says the TTPS will exercise an element of “flexibility”.
He says while he welcomes virtual events, there “must be a degree of control and no breaches of the Public Health Ordinance.”
The CoP says once he is informed of the Association’s virtual events, there will be an active police presence to monitor the proceedings and ensure compliance, such as the wearing of masks and avoidance of congregations.
