The TTPS is mourning the death of another officer due to COVID-19.
It says Assistant Superintendent of Police (Ag.) Anil Mannick succumbed to illness around 6:25pm yesterday at the Couva Hospital.
An officer with 30 years service, he was last attached to the Central Division and also spent several years at the Court and Process Branch.
He leaves to mourn a wife and son.
Assistant Superintendent of Police, Rambhani Dipchand, who worked closely with Mr. Mannick, described him as a “very liked” and dedicated senior officer.
ASP Dipchand added: “If you ask anyone within the Division, no one would have anything bad to say about him.”
He was also remembered by Assistant Superintendent of Police, Michael Pierre: “Mannick was a gentle giant. Although he didn’t say much, whenever he spoke, he said something important. What was noteworthy about him was that he spent at least ten hours at work per day. I will always remember him as being solution-oriented.”
