Hours after Government revealed that Marlene Mc Donald will be fired based on information that she is to be charged by police, the TTPS has confirmed it.

In a media release today, the Police Service says it was instructed by DPP Roger Gaspard late last night to lay charges against her.

It says Ms Mc Donald and four others will be charged with several offences of conspiracy to defraud the Government and money laundering.

She will also be charged for misbehavior in public office.

The individuals were arrested last week on allegations of corruption committed during the period 2008 to 2009.

The Police Service says investigations started in 2016 and were done by acting ACP Totaram Dookie and Fraud Squad officers.

The accused will appear in the Port of Spain Magistrates Court today.
