TTPS: Approval given for interim pension payment

Approval has been given to pay police officers an interim pension immediately upon retirement, according to the TTPS.

In a media release, the service says government accepted the recommendations of the National Security Minister for an amendment to the Police Service Regulations.

This allows for an interim pension payment of $3,500 to officers who retire compulsorily from the TTPS.

Acting Police Commissioner Mc Donald Jacob has asked for the required internal preparation to ensure officers receive this payment with effect from October 2022.
