TTPS anti-crime plan for Christmas from Dec. 1

Chaguanas East MP Vandana Mohit and Police Commissioner Gary Griffith

The police commissioner has approved an anti-crime plan for the Christmas season, and this will be implemented from December 1st.

Commissioner Gary Griffith made the revelation as he met yesterday with Chaguanas East MP Vandana Mohit to discuss the perception of rising crime in the Borough.

He says the Christmas plan will see an increase in resources to the area along with mobile patrols at malls, in neighbourhoods, traffic management and the monitoring of pedestrians who may be at risk to pickpockets.

Meanwhile, Commissioner Griffith told MP Mohit that there has been a 35% decrease in overall crime in the country, which meant a decrease in violent crime in Chaguanas.
