TTMS warns again of bad weather, urges preparation for any eventuality

The TTMS says it is monitoring a tropical wave that is expected to cause significant rainfall tomorrow and Monday.

It has issued a Yellow Level Adverse Weather Alert that will be active from 6am on Sunday to 8pm on Monday.

The TTMS says while the chance of this system developing into a tropical cyclone is currently medium, persons should still be prepared in the event that changes occur.

Persons living in flood prone areas or areas susceptible to landslides, are urged to ensure they have an emergency plan in place and supplies available in case of an emergency.

It is also warning against unofficial information and fake news, which it says tend to be widespread during events like these.

Persons are asked to follow official sources of information and to confirm information before sharing.
