Tropical Wave forecast to begin affecting T&T tomorrow

The tropical wave located to the east is forecast to begin affecting T&T from the early hours of tomorrow morning.

According to the National Hurricane Centre, there is a low or 20% chance of tropical storm formation through the next 48 hours, and a medium or 40% chance of formation through the next five days.

The TT Met Service says regardless of development, moist and unstable conditions will exist over the islands.

T&T is forecast to experience cloudy skies with periods of showers, with a medium to high chance of thunderstorm activity.

The onset of these conditions is expected from tomorrow, with activity to possibly linger until Friday.

Meanwhile, the NHC says some slow development is possible while the wave moves westward, adding that a tropical depression could form by late this week or this weekend over the Caribbean Sea.

It says an Air Force Reserve Hurricane Hunter aircraft is scheduled to investigate this system this afternoon, if necessary.
