Tropical Storm expected to form in the Atlantic


    Tropical Depression 7, which is currently over the Atlantic, is expected to become a Tropical Storm today.

    The National Hurricane Centre in Miami stated at 5am today that the system was 2065km east of the Windward Islands, moving west-northwest near 19km per hour.

    It adds that maximum sustained winds are near 55 km/h with higher gusts and strengthening is forecast during the next couple of days.

    The T&T MET Service meanwhile says on its current track, the system is forecast to reach the islands by Saturday morning, and is expected to move just north of Trinidad and Tobago.
