Police Commissioner Gary Griffith has rubbished claims that the Moriah Police Station would be closed as of 8pm today.
In a release he referred to the rumours as a deliberate attempt by certain persons to spread false information.
He says the station remains open to the public 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
He adds however that instead of many officers remaining in the station waiting for reports to be made, they will now be out on patrol and increasing visibility.
According to the Top Cop, operations at the station have been slow of late, with an average of one report per week during the period January to November 2020.
