Top Cop – don’t stick election posters without permission

The Police Commissioner is warning against the posting of notices or placards on buildings and walls without permission from the relevant owners.

This statement comes ahead of the Local Government and General Elections, during which time campaigners are known to stick flyers on walls and electrical poles.

The Top Cop warned that there is a provision in the Summary Offences Act regarding this practice.

Mr Griffith also called on political parties to let the police know about meetings, so they can help maintain order.

Mr Griffith was speaking during today’s weekly TTPS briefing.
