Tobago woman charged with cruelty to her children

A 44-year-old Tobago woman was granted $50,000 bail after appearing in court charged with three counts of cruelty to her three young children.

On May 11th detectives visted her home and allegedly found that the children – ages four, six and eight – had been left alone for a considerable duration of time.

The children were immediately taken into the care of the CPU and the mother was located and charged.

The unemployed woman appeared virtually before a Scarborough Magistrate on May 12th and is scheduled to reappear on June 9th.

The court also subsequently ordered that the children be placed into the care of their father.
