A 29-year-old truck driver of Bon Accord, Tobago has been granted $100,000 bail after appearing in court charged with possession of marijuana for the purpose of trafficking.
Nicholas Roberts, was held during an anti-crime exercise at the Scarborough Port Compound last night.
Around 7:40pm, officers searched a 10-ton truck driven by the accused, and found 14 plastic wrapped packages of marijuana in a blue knapsack and a blue suitcase.
The narcotic weighed approximately 12.3 kilograms.
According to the TTPS, Robert’s bail has to be approved by the Registrar of the Supreme Court, with a cash alternative of $30,000.
The court matter was adjourned to February 1st.
