A 17 year old Tobago boy has been sentenced to three years hard labour at the Youth Training Centre, after being found guilty of robbery.

The accused from Les Couteaux, was arrested shortly after a 42 year old businessman was held up at Spring Garden Trace, Scarborough on March 3rd.

Two men, one armed with a gun, stole cash, clothing and shoes and attempted to escape on foot.

The businessman gave chase in his car, and after being shot at by the suspects, lost control of the vehicle and hit one of the suspects.

A quantity of clothing and shoes was recovered and the teenager was subsequently charged with robbery with aggravation.

He was found guilty at his trial and was sentenced by Justice Gail Gonzales of the Scarborough Children’s Court yesterday.
