Tobago man gets bail; charged with kidnapping girlfriend


    An altercation in Buccoo, Tobago has seen a 30-year-old man slapped with $85,000 bail or $15,000 bail with a deed.

    Plymouth resident Alyandro Dumas appeared in court today on charges of kidnapping, inflicting grievous bodily harm and malicious damage against his girlfriend of six months.

    They stem from an alleged argument during which the victim claims her cell phone was damaged, she was bitten near her right eye and dealt several blows about the body.

    The woman also alleges that she was thrown into the man’s car before he locked the door and drove off.

    She managed to escape from the moving vehicle and was then assisted by passers-by who called police.

    Officers arrested the accused on Monday 31st August and he is due in court again on Tuesday 29th September 2020.
