A 32-year-old man of Argyle, Tobago, is expected to answer to one count of assault occasioning bodily harm when he appears before a Scarborough Magistrate today.
The man was arrested on Tuesday, following a report made to police that a ten-year-old boy was physically assaulted.
Upon investigation, police found that the boy’s uncle allegedly dragged the child from his aunt’s home to his mother’s house and dealt him several blows about his body.
The attack is alleged to have arisen out of an incident in which the boy ran away from his mother’s house to hide at his aunt’s house after being instructed by his mother to get ready for his Zoom class.
The boy was saved by his grandparents who intervened during the alleged assault.
