Several ponds will be cleaned on a regular basis as the Tobago Drainage Task Force tackles the issue of flooding in some communities.

This is according to a statement from the Tobago House of Assembly’s Division of Infrastructure, Quarries and the Environment.

It says the Task Force in collaboration with WASA has so far desilted a detention pond in the vicinity of the Bon Accord Government School.

The Division says debris, plastic bottles and other items were removed with the run off much easier now than before.

It says this pond and several others will get routine cleaning, all in an effort to mitigate the effects of flooding.
