The THA’s Division of Health says Tobago is “H1N1 Ready”.
Today, it confirms that 3,000 flu vaccines arrived in Tobago on Thursday.
It says priority will now be given to medical staff to receive vaccines, after which a schedule will be made available for members of the public.
The adds that a dedicated area has been set up at the Scarborough General Hospital for persons arriving at the emergency room with flu-like symptoms.
It says this area is staffed with a dedicated doctor and nurse.
The assurances come after criticism over the handling of the virus.
Although seven deaths have been confirmed so far in 2019, health officials insist there is no outbreak.
