Tertiary-level students with an existing startup or interested in starting a new business are being urged to take part in NEDCO’s business accelerator programme.
It was launched earlier this month and NEDCO Chairman Clarry Benn says it will provide support to entrepreneurs and help develop their micro and small businesses.
Services to be offered include training, coaching, mentorship, access to networks and funding.
Mr Benn says protégés can be from any sector and do not need to have an existing business – all they need is an idea and a desire to bring it to successful commercialization.
The first year of the programme starts in January 2020 and will run for 12 months with an option to extend for up to 18 months.
In years two, three, four and five, other entrepreneur groups will be targeted.
