An additional temporary car park has been set up at the Piarco International Airport to accommodate the high traffic of the July/August peak travel season.
This comes after patrons, on Friday night, had to wait a long time to make payments, with this further compounded by flight delays and arrivals in close succession.
The Airports Authority of Trinidad and Tobago (AATT) says contingency plans were implemented and affected passengers were given discounts.
It says these will remain in place to prevent any future occurrence.
With regards to car park payments, the AATT says these can only be made at the cashier’s booth because the parking arrangement is temporary.
It adds that the automated Park-in payment kiosks remain operational for persons who use the public car park.
