Expansion of a new telemedicine initiative is expected to utilize text messaging and videoconferencing to treat with patients at home.
This is according to NCRHA General Manager of Primary Care Services Dr Abdul Hamid at today’s Health Ministry media briefing.
Currently, telemedicine patients are called via phone by their physician for checkups and over 5000 persons have been part of that program so far.
However, Dr Hamid says the initiative will be upgraded.
Meanwhile, Dr Hamid says the current version of telemedicine has been particularly useful during the COVID-19 pandemic.
