Consideration will be given to have some teachers inoculated during the current COVID-19 Vaccination roll out.

Some teachers have been back in the classroom, albeit on a “as needed basis”.

When asked about having them approved for vaccination, Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh says he has been in contact with Education Minister Dr Nyan Gadsby-Dolly.

The current vaccine roll out is focused on persons considered high-risk as well as essential and frontline workers.

Regarding T&T’s continued efforts to acquire vaccines, Mr Deyalsingh said Moderna recently received approval from the WHO, while there has been a setback for Sinopharm.

Also, Mr Deyalsingh said 33,600 doses of the AstraZeneca vaccine are “more or less guaranteed” to arrive this month under the COVAX Facility.
