Supply cutback at Point Lisas Desalination Plant tomorrow

Between 8am and midnight tomorrow, parts of Central and South Trinidad may experience a disruption in their pipe borne water supply tomorrow.

WASA says this is due to emergency work to be done by T&TEC at the Point Lisas Desalination Plant.

It says during the period of the works, there will be a reduction in supply from the normal 40 million gallons per day provided to the Authority.

Among the areas to be affected include: Point Lisas, California, Couva, City of San Fernando, Duncan Village, Green Acres, Lady Hailes, Embabadere, Union Hall, Pleasantville, Palmiste, Phillipine, Esperance, La Romain, South Oropouche, Otaheite, Rousillac, Aripero, Parts of La Brea, Avocat, Fyzabad, Siparia, San Francique, Woodland, Parts of Penal, Debe, Victoria Village, Corinth, Marabella, Gasparillo and Plaisance Park.

Persons are asked to manage their water use efficiently, as it may take up to 36 hours for the supply to normalize to some affected areas, after the Plant returns to full operation.
