A street in Scarborough/Calder Hall has been renamed in honour of former teacher and Tobago cultural icon Kenetta Bobb.
The move was spearheaded by her neighbour Kevon McKenna, who gathered the signatures of other residents who backed the idea.
According to the THA, the idea was presented to Area Representative and Community Development Secretary Marslyn Melville-Jack, who helped guide the process and collaborated with residents to host a ceremony.
On December 15th, Cradley Trace was officially renamed Kenetta Bobb Drive.
The THA hailed Bobb’s contribution to Tobago as a home economics teacher and thespian as being legendary.
She received the Tobago Teacher’s Icon Award in 2018 and was among 70 recipients honoured at the Heritage Recognition Awards in 2019 for her contribution to the Tobago Heritage Festival.
