South police prioritize fight against illegal guns

    Southern Division officers are prioritorizing the recovery of illegal firearms from potential murderers.

    Today, Senior Superintendent Wayne Mohammed noted that for the year so far, there were 33 homicides in that division, one third of the total murders in the same period last year.

    The officer also noted there was a five per cent reduction in serious crimes within the Southern Division this year so far, compared to the same period in 2018.
