Soldier gets $20,000 bail for breaching curfew

A soldier has been fined $20,000 for breaching the curfew.

Arte Knutt pleaded guilty when he appeared virtually before Princes Town Magistrate Margaret Alert on Monday.

Around 9:50pm July 16th, officers on mobile patrol along Rock River, Moruga stopped a white Nissan Almera, with the suspect saying he was on his way to pick up his cousin by the hairdresser.

The man was allegedly instructed to return home, but was stopped again around 10:30pm and after another warning to stay home, was spotted out and about a third time around 11:23pm.

Knutt reportedly pulled into a yard and was observed with a 17-year-old girl in the front passenger side.

Both were arrested and subsequently charged for breach of curfew.

The girl appeared before the Juvenile Court on Monday where she pleaded guilty.

The Court Social Services section was also ordered to provide a pre-sentencing psycho-social report on her behalf on August 25th.
