Seven persons were arrested and charged with breaching the Public Health Regulations after gathering to register for the DSS Scheme in Tobago.
Police Commissioner Gary Griffith, who is currently in the UK, was shown images of videos of the gathering at Shepherd’s Inn, Crown Point.
He gave instructions to arrest anyone who was in breach of the regulations, and to shut down the DSS operation.
DSS has made the headlines recently, after its operation in La Horquetta was raided by police, and involved the seizing of $22 million which was returned without knowledge of senior officers.
Among those arrested on Saturday were seven Tobagonians and on Trinidadian.
They were among the persons who refused to abide by the instructions of police, as officers informed the crowd that they were in breach of the health regulations.
