Senior cops in court for charges relating to sexual misconduct


    A high ranking officer is one of two senior policemen due in court tomorrow on charges relating to sexual misconduct.

    103FM News understands between March 31st 2019 and June 1st 2019, the high ranking officer pursued a course of inappropriate sexual conduct at a police station in Central Trinidad.

    According to the Professionals Standards Bureau,  such conduct amounted to harassment in breach of the Offences Against The Person Act.

    The officer, who has 39 years service, was arrested at his office this week and will appear at the Chaguanas Magistrates Court tomorrow.

    Meanwhile on July 4th 2014, a 58 year old officer with 38 years service, allegedly committed the offence of indecent assault upon a female, while attached to the Chaguanas Police Station.

    The officer, who is now attached at the Southern Division, was arrested on Wednesday.

    He too will appear before the Chaguanas Magistrate Court tomorrow.

    The investigation was conducted under the leadership of Ag. ACP Totaram Dookhie, assisted by Ag. Snr Supt Vernon Roberts, Inspector Sheridon Hills, Cpl Adrian Smith, WCpl Natalie Carthy and Sgt. Grey.
