Security guard fined $7K after stealing from Prisons Officer

A 21-year-old security guard has been fined $7,000 after pleading guilty to housebreaking and larceny against a prisons officer.

Gerard Bailey appeared in court yesterday and will have to serve six months in jail with hard labour in default of the fine.

He was arrested after investigations into the May 27th theft of $17,150 worth of items from a house uncovered workable prints.

The stolen items, including several game consoles and other electronic devices, were recovered.
