A day after the resignation of Ashvani Mahabir as Opposition Senator, the UNC has already selected a replacement.
According to a media release, the party says Mrs Kamla Persad Bissessar will advise the President to appoint Mr Sean Sobers.
Mr Sobers previously served as a temporary Opposition Senator and has contributed to debates on several Bills, including, The Administration of Justice Bill 2019.
He has a Bachelor of Laws degree from the University of London and a Legal Practicing Certificate from the University of Staffordshire.
Mr Sobers was called to the Bar of Trinidad and Tobago in April 2013.
He is a member of the Legal Aid Authority and the Trinidad and Tobago Duty Counsel Panel.
