Schedule released for COVID shifted UWI graduation ceremonies

    Rescheduled graduation ceremonies for the University of the West Indies will begin on Sunday 10th January 2021.

    The university says close to 8,500 graduands from the class of 2020 will receive their degrees at several blended and virtual events.

    A total of 11 ceremonies will be broadcast live via UWI’s website and UWI TV on Flow EVO, Facebook and YouTube.

    The schedule, as provided by UWI, is as follows:

    FIVE NAMED AS UWI ST AUGUSTINE VALEDICTORIANS

    Five high-achieving students have been named as valedictorians for UWI St Augustine’s graduating class of 2020.

    They are Chikara Mitchell for the Faculty of Social Sciences, Richard Ali for Food and Agriculture and Science and Technology, Suraj Sakal for Law, Keitjé Greaves for Humanities and Education and Shaquille Trotman for Medical Sciences.

    They will speak at the first ever virtual graduation in the history of the campus next Monday and Tuesday, January 11 and 12.
