SAPA has been added as a mass vaccination site, as Government moves to make use of all doses of the COVID-19 jab.

Given the recent increase in infections, Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley announced this week that all of the remaining COVID-19 vaccines will be used instead of being saved as second doses.

Health Minister Terrence Deyalsingh also announced today that the vaccine will now be available to persons under the age of 60 with non-communicable diseases and those over 60 years without NCDs.

    This will include asthmatics.

Mr Deyalsingh says second doses of the vaccine will likely come from the second and third tranches from the COVAX Facility, which are due in May and June, subject to confirmation.

Vaccinations will resume on Monday, and persons are asked to make an appointment instead of simply walking in.
