A Santa Cruz man will appear before a Port of Spain Magistrate tomorrow, charged with possession of a firearm and ammunition.
The 27 year old was arrested by officers during an anti-crime exercise conducted after 10pm on Tuesday in the Santa Cruz district.
Corporal Wendell Ramkissoon along with officers were on mobile patrol on Blackford street, when they saw the man run away on seeing the police vehicle.
The suspect however fell while running, with a loaded DB9 handgun falling in his possession.
He was subsequently arrested and charged by PC Lester Dwarika.
