There has been an encouraging response by police following the desecration of the Carapo Mandir, according to the SDMS’ legal advisor.
Dinesh Rambally, who is also an attorney at law and MP for Chaguanas West, made this statement at a function to purify the temple.
Vandals broke into the mandir earlier this month and desecrated by the cooking of corned beef.
Calling the incident a calculated attack, Rambally explained the cow is revered in Hinduism as it is associated with purity, auspiciousness and motherhood.
He noted that the desecration was a crime and assured that police have been making headway in their investigations.
