After being closed for repairs due to coastal erosion, the Quinam Beach Facility will again be available for public use, officially from tomorrow.
The erosion impacted the existing seawall and threatened infrastructure such as the Penal Quinam Road and the Lifeguard Building.
Coastal erosion also hindered the use of the facility for recreational activities such as swimming, kayaking and kite flying, as well as religious activities.
Tropical Storm Bret on June 20th 2017 also further deteriorated the coastline near Quinam Beach.
The facility was closed in November last year, and restorative works were started.
