The University of the West Indies has collaborated with Friends of Mr Biswas to host a public memorial for Nobel Laureate Sir V.S. Naipaul.
He died on August 11th, 2018, at the age of 85.
At the memorial on Saturday, to commemorate Naipaul’s life and work, the Lines of Life Project will also be launched.
It is a celebration of his contributions that have helped create an understanding of who we are as a Caribbean people and the issues we face in the world today.
The memorial will include film screenings, musical performances and scholarly dialogue, focused on his literary contribution to the region.
It also intends to create global awareness of Naipaul’s work.
