Public gatherings to go back to 10 persons, public service to be asked to rotate staff

Public congregations will be reduced to 10 and the public service will be asked to reduce employee attendance in response to recent increases in COVID-19 cases in T&T.

These announcements came at a media conference hosted by Prime Minister Dr Keith Rowley who says the rule on gatherings will apply mostly to outdoors.

Dr Rowley also clarified what is considered to be a congregation and assured this change will not upset the carrying out of elections.

Meanwhile, Dr Rowley suggested the public sector roster workers as they will be required to reduce staff attendance.

He also says the SEA exam, bars, restaurants and public transport will be under watch.

The changes are expected to kick in by Sunday morning.
