PTSC bus drivers in San Fernando refused to start their engines this morning for work, after learning their buses did not have vehicle inspection certificates.
The drivers say they were fearful that should they be stopped by police they would have to face the five thousand dollar fine.
The Trinidad Express reported that some 100 drivers stood outside the bus terminal with approximately 57 parked buses.
Chairman of PTSC Edwin Gooding says the buses were indeed inspected but the original certificates were kept in Port of Spain.
He says copies were being made available so the buses can resume service.
