The Pt. Lisas Desalination plant is back up and running, following repairs that lasted over a week.
The shutdown affected water supplies to WASA’s customers in Central and South Trinidad.
The authority said the plant was delivering 36 million gallons per day as of yesterday, and work is ongoing to attain full production of 40 million gallons a day.
Though the plant was restarted on Sunday, WASA says it would have taken up to 48 hours for supplies to be normalized in some areas, according to the regular schedules.
Meanwhile, water supplies continue to be affected in areas of South East Trinidad, due to ongoing repairs to a ruptured pipeline in Tabaquite.
The works are expected to be completed by 8pm today.
